Is by Meimi, that wonderful Goddess who brings joy and happiness to the hearts of Ingrids.
This time, Meimi brought joy by doing a layout of Isumi Shinichirou and Waya Yoshitaka, of Hikaru no Go. It is full of wub.

Camels!

"Let's go install this thing. Dad would want it that way."
"He'd also want me ta find myself a nurse porn site." - Fox Maharassa and Rafi, Friendly Hostility.

Well, I didn't get any work done today on my gothic narrative paper (due Wednesday). I did, however, go to the library to get some references for my political studies paper (on globalisation). I went to the public library instead of the campus library because the campus library is . . . big, and daunting. Also, I found out that Poppy Z. Brite's Liquor was actually in the main branch of the public library, as was Gordon Korman's Son of Interflux, and, especially after seeing a copy of Son of the Mob 2 at the local bookstore, I really had no choice. I had to walk downtown and take the necessary books out (along with something that caught my eye called Ninjas, Piranhas, and Galileo and the Charles Vess illustrated sort of graphic novel version of Neil Gaiman's Stardust).

I also saw the maintenace man dragging someone's fridge-and-freezer out of the elevator and into the complex bowels, but that's neither here nor there. I hope.

I'm really, really enjoying Son of Interflux. It's the good stuff. The really good stuff, from the eighties, with all the right references (like the Vishnik prize, which was also mentioned in Don't Care High, I think, and was a guest in the hotel Sidney and Tom were working at in Our Man Weston, he had a dog). Also, there's camels. I have a sudden, new-found appreciation for camels.

I'll work tomorrow.

All about the camels,

When purple attacks

"Check his flower pot. Check his flower pot for gay porn." - Tycho, Penny Arcade.

Every word I hear about Shadow Hearts: Covenant makes me want it more and more. In other irrelevant and brief news, the burn on my leg is starting to scab over and isn't oozing or bleeding or anything anymore! Now it's just kind of itchy.

I was walking home from class today and I was passed by a purple car. It wasn't just any purple car. It was like the purple car Shadow buys in American Gods You know "... the drippy kind of purple that someone would need to be very stoned, very often, to even begin to be able to find attractive." It was -that- car. One of the ugliest vehicles I've ever had the misfortune of seeing. No idea what make the car was. I doubt the car would really want people to know what it is.

It's not just because I feel a natural enmity toward the colour purple, I swear.

Purple will sneak up on you when you least expect it,

Karma karma karma . . . turkey?

"It's been at least five minutes since my last brush with death, and I'm getting light in the head." - Sam, Sam and Max Freelance Police, The Thing That Wouldn't Stop It

Somehow managed to have a good weekend despite intereference in the form of an English paper, philosophy, "The Monk", and the area of the former hole that existed in my bathroom ceiling for the entirety of the summer starting to leak water late one night.

Really. Saturday night was spent at Geoff's place with Dice, Matt, and Shelly, and Geoff's spastic cat, eating pizza and cake and playing some stupid ATV racing game Geoff got with his PS2 (called Parker for it's unfortunate tendency to make characters vibrate in FMVs when seen close up) and . . . Katamari Damacy.

I've already babbled at length about Katamari Damacy on Logic and Chaos, and if that and Friday's comic over at Penny Arcade wasn't enough to convince people to go out and buy the game immediately (I mean, if they're gamers) then I don't know what is.

It was a blast, it really was, even if we inadvertently pissed off Geoff's landlord, but you try to hold in the laughter when one of your friends is trying to roll a sumo wrestler up in a giant ball of garbage. It's really, really hard.

I suppose karma's just trying to make up for the fact that the coming weekend is going to be the most depressing thing ever imagined since the last astonishingly depressing thing. I need some friends who's family all live on Neptune or something.

But, still, trying not to think of that (which is hard, when everyone else is talking about their Thanksgiving plans and there's even commercials and stuff about it on TV). Because this weekend was pretty cool.

I'm probably going to be spending every moment of the coming weekend trying to put together a paper for gothic narrative anyway.

Insert witty yet cynical and vaguely despondent comment here,
