Is by Meimi, that wonderful Goddess who brings joy and happiness to the hearts of Ingrids.
This time, Meimi brought joy by doing a layout of Isumi Shinichirou and Waya Yoshitaka, of Hikaru no Go. It is full of wub.

On Buffy finale - Meimi said most of what I was thinking. Thanks for saving me the typing, Meimi! ^_^

It was too obviously made to accomadate spinoffs. The only spinoff I want to see is an Andrew one, that resurrects Jonathan, y0. I wanted to know what happened to the characters. They're the ones I cared about and, if the ending isn't going to be poignant, at least tell me what happens to the damn characters! What happens to Buffy and Dawn? Dawn still has to go to school, after all. What happens to Xander? Will his condition affect his ability to work? What happens to Giles, who was a git most of this season? Will Willow dump Kennedy? Will Kennedy commit ritualist suicide? Will Faith and Wood have mad sexx0r on the desk of his new school?

We probably shouldn't have answers to these questions. But really, it would have been nice, a five/ten years in the future thing, Dawn's an evil lawyer, Buffy's a hooker on the street, Xander's plotting world domination with Andrew, Faith gets a sex change operation, -anything-.

It was just disappointing for me. It made me think that, as much as I've enjoyed stuff in the later seasons - the Troika (JONATHAN!), and the Musical, and Spike (even if I can't listen to "Early In The Morning" without thinking of him now, thanks a lot for ruining childhood memories, you bastard) - maybe Buffy would have been better if it ended with "The Gift". 'cause that, that made me cry.

Oh, well. At least Andrew didn't die.

Watched some of the Hikaru no Go anime today, the first since the last time Thea was here (and, since we haven't been speaking to each other since March, you know that's a long time) and I can't help but marvel at how quietly moving the little things are. I watched the Sai Internet Arc (also known as Waya's First Appearance, does anything else matter? Arc), and the beginning of Hikaru's Wacky Insei Adventures (Waya and Isumi Need to Admit How Gay They Are). The bit that always gets me, besides Hikaru's angst ('cause Hikaru angsts well, especially in the early days, when he wasn't built for angst) is when Mitani plays against Hikaru in that three-board match, and looses. It's . . . really well done. Quiet, and understated, but really good. They got his expression, the look in his eyes . . . perfection. I really feel for him. And they don't dwell on it for too long, that's what makes it good. Soon after he's getting bitchslapped by Kaga (before Kaga runs out in terror when his teacher finds him). Good stuff.

Also really weird, little tiny character things that you can really see in the animation - like when Hikaru meets the Insei after his test, and his mother comes to get him. She tells them when Hikaru will be starting, and that it was nice to meet them, and bows before walking away. And Isumi (one out of five or six insei) bows back slightly.

. . . I just found it really cute, okay?
