Is by Meimi, that wonderful Goddess who brings joy and happiness to the hearts of Ingrids.
This time, Meimi brought joy by doing a layout of Isumi Shinichirou and Waya Yoshitaka, of Hikaru no Go. It is full of wub.

Hooray for Meimi!

Seriously, so happy for you, dear. And after one, there will be many, I'm sure.

I dissected a crayfish in biology lab. ^_^

Also, poked hydra and planaria.

Tired. V. tired. Have physics test tomorrow afternoon. Biology test tomorrow night.

Um.

Tired.

Sleepy. Bed looks nice.

Coherent blogging, um, tomorrow. When I'm not asleep.

After tests.

Apparently there's a meme going around livejournal about the opening lines of your ten favourite books. So, here's my contribution, with a rather loose defintion of what a "line" is, in alphabetical order according to title.

Note: Favourites are loosely chosen and based on rereadability. If I haven't reread, they can't count. Yet.

American Gods: "Shadow had done three years in prison. He was big enough and looked don't-fuck-with-me enough that his biggest problem was killing time. So he kept himself in shape, and taught himself coin tricks, and thought a lot about how much he loved his wife." - Neil Gaiman.

Archer's Goon: "The trouble started the day howard came home from school to find the Goon sitting in the kitchen." - Diana Wynne Jones.

Dirk Gently's holistic Detective Agency: "This time there would be no witnesses." - Douglas Adams. I personally think the title makes a much better impression than the first line.

Eight Days of Luke: "Unlike most boys, David dreaded the holidays. His parents were dead and he lived with his Great Aunt Dot, Great Uncle Bernard, their son Cousin Ronald and Cousin Ronald's wife, Astrid; and all these four people insisted that he should be grateful for the way they looked after him." - Diana Wynne Jones.

Fire and Hemlock: "A dead sleep came over me / And from my horse I fell / Tam Lin / Polly sighed and laid her book face down on the bed." - Diana Wynne Jones.

If Only They Could Talk: "They didn't say anything about this in the books, I thought, as the snow blew in through the gaping doorway and settled on my naked back." - James Herriot.

Jingo: "It was a moonless night, which was good for the purposes of Solid Jackson. / He fished for Curious Squid, so called because, as well as being squid, they were curious. That is to say, their curiosity was the curious thing about them." - Terry Pratchett.

Lords and Ladies: "Now read on . . ." - Terry Pratchett.

Mirror Dance: "The row of comconsole booths lining the passenger concourse of Escobar's largest commercial orbital transfer station had mirrored doors, divided into diagonal sections by rainbow-colored lines of light. Doubltess someone's idea of decor." - Lois McMaster Bujold.

To Say Nothing of the Dog or How We Found the Bishop's Birdstump at Last: "A Search Party - Wartime Headgear - The Problem of Nepotism - Royal Headgear - The Bishop's Bird Stump Is Missing - Jumble Sales - A Clue to Its Whereabouts - Astronomical Observations - Dogs - A Cat - Man's Best Friend - An Abrupt Departure / There were five of us - Carruthers and the new recruit and myself, and Mr. Spivens and the verger." - Connie Willis.

Yes, I have three Diana Wynne Jones books listed and two Terry Pratchett's. Go away.

Ah, I know it's morning, because I can hear the horrible noises of Guthrie's overloud stereo system from his bedroom as he does his damn hair.

My ears.

Don't want to go to work. Really don't want to go to calculus. Words cannot express how much I don't want to go to chemistry.

If I were sensible, I'd just drop calculus. But I'm too damn stubborn and sent off the cheque for my tuition yesterday.

Still haven't studied for the physics test Thursday. Did study quite a bit for biology (also Thursday) over the weekend though. Yesterday kind of a wash out, what with needing to wake up in the morning, and go to physics tutorial, and then lab. Matt's had his license suspended, so I had to walk everywhere yesterday. Was quite cold when I was in the wind. Also - very bad for asthma. I had to hork up some bronchial mucus a couple times on the walk up to the lab. Very unpleasant. Walking home in the dark isn't much fun either.

Going to kill Guthrie and his stupid music.

Almost finished the prelab questions for tomorrow morning's lab, two left, then I have to do the rest of the pre-lab write up. Hopefully, the lab won't take long, and I can get out of there before eleven, come home, and cram like I've never crammed before for physics. I'm not too too worried, though. As long as they don't spring any surprises, things should be fine.

My God, he's listening to -rap-. Urge to kill, rising . . .

The stuff we did on the practice exam was pretty simple, really, even the derivations, and we get (almost) all the formulas. I just have to reread the chapters and try to remember what the hell we were studying. Urk.

Generally feeling very stressed, and almost everyone's too busy these days to bother with getting on AIM or MSN. Or just don't want to talk to me. Bleh.

Going to read more of Great Expectations when the idiot boy leaves.

I'm going to kill my dad.

He was supposed to fix the shower yesterday, and it's not -set- yet. Which means I can't have my fucking shower.

I have to go to church in half an hour.

Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.

I do not start days well without a shower.

I'm with Meimi on this - I can't believe a Dawn episode made me almost-cry.

Dammit, that's the best Xander's been in ages. Maybe even better than Xander in last season's finale.

Jeez. ~sniffs~
