layout
Is by Meimi, that wonderful Goddess who brings joy and happiness to the hearts of Ingrids.
This time, Meimi brought joy by doing a layout of Isumi Shinichirou and Waya Yoshitaka, of Hikaru no Go. It is full of wub.

Meimi, I may be evil, but you're equally evil for sparking my interest in Pretear. Evil evil evil!

Evil.

Mum and Guthrie are home. They brought loot. A hat that says "Merchant of Venice", a cup that says "Henry V", half a large bag of plain potatoe chips, the remains of mini-chocolate bars, a gift certificate for the gap (not sure how useful that will be), a jar of strawberry jam, some cans of pop, and a fancy teacup and saucer that might be worth massive amounts of money. I'm glad they're home. I missed them. And now we might have decent food again, with food groups and things.

Reading Pamela Dean's Juniper, Gentian, and Rosemary. It's very cool. I love the narrative style. It's very mysterious too. And addictive. I've only got a hundred and some pages left.

Meimi I know I told you I'd review Bound for Logic and Chaos, and I still will . . . I'm just waiting for the next bit.

Bwahaha.

Oh - and Dad. He was in Shellbrooke.

All day.

Who the hell spends all day in -Shellbrooke-?!

Wai! Thanks Meimi. S'lovely song. Even if I don't know what parapara dancing is . . . And the anime seems lovely. Watched the first episode yesterday, have the second episode waiting, and the fifth . . . It looks really good. Admittedly, I'm not very familiar with the magical girl stuff. But I'm not really that familiar with anything, so that's okay! ^_^

And I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who wanted to throw the Lord of the Rings books against the wall. I got through them because it was a four day long car trip and there was nothing else to do but read.

So, my dad's been AWOL since, at least, eight-thirty this morning. Jackass doesn't even leave a note.

I saw a hooker today walking home from the library with Wapi. It was around three in the afternoon. Fat, with a revealing tanktop and low jeans. She was posing and wandering around about a block away from the library. She stopped a car, but it wasn't a John.

In continuation of great summer traditions, I was watering Mum's lilies when I realized another bat has decided to make itself at home on some part of our house. Last year, one spent the day snoozing in between the screen and the glass of our front door. Our house is about a hundred years old now and the ground floor isn't actually on level with the ground. There's about half-a-metre of concrete slush before the brick and the actual floors of the house begin. This is where today's bat has decided to sleep, in between that rough concrete crap and the wire mesh Mum has tacked onto it for her climbing flowers that aren't climbing this year. I hope the bat's asleep. Rather morbid for it to have died in a position like that. The summer before last, or the one before that . . . a few summer's ago anyway, Dad found a bat skeleton up on the roof while he was reshingling. I did not get to see it, and was sad.

Apparently, it's Bad for Ingrid to listen to Tori Amos music.

Remember boys and girls - don't try to do things because you enjoy them. Do things because other people tell you you should enjoy them.

I actually managed to download an anime episode via WinMX today. The first episode of Pretear, which looks like really fun mahou shoujo kind of stuff. The art's gorgeous and the main character doesn't seem smite-worthy. I think the only place I've heard about it is via Meimi's ramblings about how much she loves the opening song "White Destiny." It is a great song. I could listen to it for hours.

Now, let's see if I can get the other episodes. Come on baby!

Pictures of me. In a grad gown. Blah. I feel ill.

Mugshot

Another Mugshot

One of the Mugshots was supposed to be of me, holding flowers.

There are no flowers.

Blink and you'll miss it I wish.

Sod this

You'll note that the gown worn in the first two pictures is not the same as in the final two. That's right. They couldn't even rent the same gowns twice.

That's sad, kiddies.

I am not wearing a dorky mortarboard? Where, you ask, is my mortarboard? It's in the car. Where is it now? In my little cousin Keegan's toy box, I think.

Also, you may admire my spiffy attire. Dark blue jeans and black hiking boots. If you're curious, under the robe is a white button up t-shirt. I'm classy.

What's it [whale blubber] taste like? Whaley.

Mum and Guthrie may be several days late coming home. The car started giving off wonky signals outside of English River, Ontario and Mum called a tow-truck. They were towed to Dryden, where the Volkswagen dealership apparently burnt down last year. Our car, of course, is a 1992 Volkswagen Turbo Jetta. So poor little car is now resting in the Canadian Tire parking lot. The clever men at Canadian Tire say that there's a problem with the alternator. The brand new alternator that the Canadian Tire in Prince Albert sold us just before Mum and Guthrie left, after three separate and unsuccessful repairs. Hopefully, it'll be nothing, and they'll be home soon.

In more cheerful news - Wapi can snatch ribs out of the air and crunch them easily between her jaws of death.

Nothing quite lifts one's spirits like two ice cream sandwhiches, an hour talking with your dearest of friends, an hour of gay smut and laughing at how silly wangs look, and ripping yet another chapter of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban to tiny shreds.

Sadly, I got to make no comments about broom buggering.

Darcy says he'll let me drive his Honda when I take my driver's test. It's an automatic. Happy days.

Jinxer still hasn't done a new Potter chapter, and I'm still nowhere near the end of The Sky Road. No updates from Ingid at Logic and Chaos any time in the near future. (Update: I was wrong and under-estimated Jinxer's insane typing skillz. Damn)

Meimi's entry about Hikaru no Go prompted cheerful discussion between bell and I the other morning/night. Mostly about the nicest characters and how their niceness relates to their attitude toward go. Sai, of course, is the nicest of the nice. Any go, anywhere, with anyone. Even just teaching go, it makes Sai ecstatic to the point of tears. He doesn't care if he wins or looses, he just wants to see go, somehow. After Sai does not come Hikaru. Hikaru is intend upon winning and beating Akira, and he doesn't teach others how to play go. He's entirely focussed on himself. No, after Sai, the nicest go loving person in the land of the living is Tsutsui. Yes, that's right. Tsutsui, who started a go club with only himself as a member. Tsutsui, who's shy and gentle but gets incredibly passionate about go. Tsutsui, who doesn't even care how he ranks in the club, it makes him burst with delight to have other people playing, and to share his absolute love of go. Tsutsui may not be an insei or pro, but none aside from Sai can rival his absolute love. Then there's Waya and Isumi, Hikaru's two insei friends. They're also (at least, as of volume thirteen) great lovers of go, and go out of their way to help Hikaru become a better go player, even though he's eventually a threat to their own positions in the great go world. They want to share the go too, but winning's still fairly important to them, although they don't mind playing with people who aren't as talented as they are. There's also Akira, but as the series progresses, he's not very nice, but he does adore the go with a fierce passion. Akira's especially not nice if it has anything to do with Hikaru and go at the same time. But he still loves the go, and takes time out to teach others. He just becomes a tad obsessive later on . . .
