layout
Is by Meimi, that wonderful Goddess who brings joy and happiness to the hearts of Ingrids.
This time, Meimi brought joy by doing a layout of Isumi Shinichirou and Waya Yoshitaka, of Hikaru no Go. It is full of wub.

I think, for the next bet Jinxer and I make, I'm going to ask for Hikaru no Go tankouban.

Or, you know, one tankouban. Since there are many.

I can be dillusional if I want!

And if that fails, I do have a couple hundred dollars I haven't shoved into the bank yet . . . Bah. Money sucks.

I don't suppose anyone out there would be interesting in a couple Mercedes Lackey novels? I have a box I was supposed to send to Jinxer, but by the time I had the money to do it, she had an attack of taste, and now doesn't want them.

She still won't read Georgette Heyer, though, so it wasn't a very big attack.

The moon looks so cool tonight. It's very round, and there's black shadows drifting across it, and the sky around it is kind of deep teal coloured. So cool.

In other random observations - it's not right that the only time I can look in the mirror and say "Hey, I don't look ugly" is after midnight, when I have colour in my face (frequently, due to my hermit-like habits and avoidance of light, I tend to look pale and deathlike) and my eyes have that creepy brightness that comes when you should be asleep, but aren't, and as a result, are rather unnaturally overstimulated.

Meril gave me the link to a delightful new toy! Très Canadian, too

It can spit up the most appropriate things. Like the following.

"What have I done to deserve this black horror,
Surrounded on all sides with the Hell of Harry Potter"

Wish I'd had this one for the last Potter review.

"I feel miserable
Brooms make me ill"

"I want to die
Is it because of Harry Potter that I feel this way?
With the black rays of misery pounding on my brain?"

The first one was the best, though. -So- appropriate.

OW! Ow ow ow ow ow. I am in agony. It hurts to cross my legs. That's pain, baby.

Read The Queen of Attolia. I shall probably brood on it before doing a thorough rant/review, as well as give Jinxer time to finish a Potter chapter, so I can deliver some snark before falling asleep for a week.

Reading A Separate Peace now, on orders from Jinxer. I got it out from the library. It really is incredibly gay. It's the teenage angst war novel merged with the boarding school novel, to result in double the level of gay! ~gets weird looks~ In grade eleven, we had to read L'ami retrouvé, a story about a Jewish boy named Hans, and his very close best friendship with Conrad, the son of Nazi supporters as Hitler was coming to power in Germany. It was very gay. Everyone recognize the gayness. Tragic gay, too. I wish I could remember the title in english.

I should eat something. I have had an egg, four pieces of toast, three chunks of pineapple, a spoonful of ice cream, and two apples. And two pots of tea and a glass of water.

It's a good book that makes you ignore the need for food.

Jinxer gets a cookie, because she remarkably pinpointed what makes me want to throw up in certain books. Excessive manipulation, well written, in any manifestation. I bet a psychiatrist would have a field day examining my reactions to some of those things.

It's a very small cookie, though, because Jinxer has me scared witless about reading The Queen of Attolia. It sits, emitting stomach twisting vibes, beside me now. And I'm scared to touch it. Jinxer liked The Thief, so it was quite unsettling to hear her, quite a while ago, pronounce its sequel as being evil. Not the righteous literary "Potter is evil" indignation I frequently express, but foaming at the mouth, outright hated. Never read anything by Turner again sort of hatred. To make matters worse, Fiora gave this to me. And, as far as I can tell, enjoyed it. Soothing, because our tastes tend to run closer together than Jinxer's and my own (Jinxer -likes- Potter, and watches Dragonball Z), so maybe I won't want to kill anyone . . .

But if I'm a gibbering heap of incoherence tomorrow, you can blame Jinxer and The Queen fo Attolia.

Dammit, Jinxer!

Ow ow ow. Tired tired tired. Eight hours of weeding two fields and Saskatoon picking. Ow ow ow.

Later tonight, I shall have a very long bath, with some nice stuff, and perhaps The Queen of Attolia as my companion. ~Fuuma-ish leer~

It was actually kind of nice, as far as work goes. You could look back, and see that you'd actually accomplished something. The stains on my pants can also testify to this, but they in no way demonstrate the satisfying feeling of ripping up a weed as tall as you are with one hand, roots and all. That was fun. Also, any job where you can nibble on Saskatoon berries while you work has to be good in some way.

I got sixty dollars. More than a hundred less than I got for twelve hours of being a security guard, but I'd much rather do this again. Better for the body (I ache!) and much more satisfying.

While I was gone, presents came! I love you mail!

Coraline which is glorious and shiny, came. I love you Cathy! You're so good to me! I hope the first few volumes of X arrive soon . . .

Also, Thea sent me a hat she had made. I forgot to ask if she had her Fox hat made, so we could match. Mine is a Collin hat (Boy Meets Boy minor characters). It is lovely and black and ever so soft, and says, in white lettering, "I see dumb people . . ." I just wish I could have had it for grad XD

I'm wearing my hat now. I may never take it off.

Oh, and thanks to one of Jinxer's friends, apparently Zell (of Final Fantasy VIII) is the love child of Ron Weasley and Sorata (X). Go figure.

Ow ow ow. Tired tired tired. Finished part eighteen today. Thirteen pages. Ow ow ow.

My tongue's burning.

Got a hundred and sixty dollars, and twenty-two cents in the mail today. Woohoo! I now have 2306.91$ in the bank. This means I can pay for my first semester of university without dipping into my stocks and bonds. Hooray. Or something.

Getting money like things in the mail makes me very happy.

No rain today. Saskatchewan is sad. Unless there's rain in Regina or one of those other cities that isn't here or Saskatoon.

Madame Donahue left for Ireland today. Yesterday, she came by to congratulate me on winning money, and to give me a picture she did of her cat (it's so cute!! I love it and it's on my wall, slightly covering Fuuma's shoe) and a very nice new pen. Very fine point. Yes! Detail will be mine!

When, you know, I draw and stuff again.

I have a job for tomorrow. Hopefully we'll be able to find it, since it's out of town, in the boonies. Sounds like I'm going to be picking Saskatoons and doing some weeding. For eight hours. I have to be there at eight in the morning.

Ow ow ow.

Hotta Yumi and Obata Takeshi are divine gods. Which makes the good people a Toriyama's World, um, avatars, or something. Someday, I'm going to have money, and I'm going to buy Hikaru no Go, and the beautiful, beautiful art book.

Or, baring that, I'll just mug bell and steal it from her. ~nikoniko~
